Pioneer Day in Hurricane Part 2: Zions

Saturday we loaded up in my parents van with my little neice Brook and headed to Zions. My parents get into the park for free so it was extra good. My sister April was spending the day alone, which she rarely gets. Her husband and my nephew Bk went to South Dakota for his brothers wedding. My dad cruised the park on his scooter, and the rest of us hiked up to the upper Emerald Pools and then down. Mama Conder started getting weak and had to lay down on the trail for awhile. We force fed her jerky, licorice, and a granola bar. After 1/2 a granola bar she said she was full, but we made her finish it and then she felt better. We only did the one hike and then headed to Blondie's dinner (I think that's what it was called).

Brook slipped in some water while attempting to jump over the water and then later sat in some mud.

Nate and Brook cooling off in the river while the rest of us watched.

At Blondie's dinner we got some good food. The salads were ginormous. Mine was just a house salad so it was only 1/2 the size, but still HUGE.

Brook, of course, only had fries and rootbeer. Oh to be a child again.
