August

It seems like the summer is chuck full of birthdays for people I know and love.  All of Addie's family and a lot of my good friends.

On my birthday I took the day off and did everything I wanted to do.  I always like to go to the movie, swimming at the Scera pool, and then go out to dinner.  Jayna was a sport and spent the whole day with me.  Her dad was even in town and we drug him around with us.  I started the day with the gym, then Jayna, dream dad Danny (as we like to call him), Chris, Brad, and I went and saw Total Recall, followed by lunch at Chuck-A-Rama.  Then Jayna and I beach whaled it up at the pool.  I cry-laughed at how slow she went down the slide and then we laughed again when she asked me to pull her out of the pool and I obliged in the most awkward way.
After the pool, we met some friends at Guru's for dinner and then had cake and ice cream at my place after. I was also given gifts by all my friends, which was so generous and nice.  Jayna gave me matching hot dog/hamburger shirts, which Chris and Brad modeled for us.  I also received a cool spibelt to hold my iPod, keys, etc. when I run.  Plus gift cards, candy, a dumb movie (joke from Chris and Brad), homemade jewelry, and more.
That night as I was getting ready for bed I felt extremely grateful for the great friends and family I have in my life, and how great they are to me.  I had an awesome day because of them.

Last Saturday Jayna and I had a joint birthday party to invite some of the mid-singles we know in the area.  We didn't have a good turn out, but we still had fun regardless, and were happy to see our good friends who came.  Jayna and I dressed in matching outfits, of course.  We also had a surprise gluten-free party game.  We filled an Elmo pinata with broccoli and when it busted open we brought a tray of mini ranch cups.  Everyone loved it and thought it was hilarious.
Yesterday was my J-bubby's birthday.  I woke her up at 8:30 and took her to breakfast at Magleby's Fresh for all-you-can-eat french toast.  Nate, Nicole, and Will met us there for an extra added surprise.  Then we did the usual and took up close photos of everyone making weird faces and cried laughing.

A normal one.  I'm proud to be an American kitten.
After breakfast we went home and took a short nap, got ready, and then headed up to Salt Lake to walk around City Creek mall, eat dinner, and go see a movie.  The place we were originally going to go was closed, sadly, so we ate at the Cheesecake Factory.  Because we were in Salt Lake, Nate got to take a dinner break and meet us.  After dinner Nicole took little Willow home to bed and Brad, Jayna, and I went to see The Odd Life of Timothy Green.  It was a fun day for our special gal.  We love and will miss her when she leaves for home this Saturday.  Cross your fingers she can come back next year.

Bonus: Jayna and I went camping and river rafting in Wyoming at the beginning of August.  It was fun until I got an awful tooth ache and we had to come home.  That wolf in two of the photos has become our life-long friend and we will remember him in our hearts forever.  He's been the object of our jokes for some time now.

I might be biased but Willow looks so cute in those weird faces pictures!
