1. We had a joint birthday bash for Nicole and Jayna. Both August birthdays. I made their fancy hatish things. Jayna and I were in charge of providing a BBQ. We had two at our house, but didn't bother checking them beforehand--only to find one was occupied by a wasps nest. Nate was the unlucky fellow who checked the BBQ and was stung. The other was spider infested. We ended up having to shamelessly use a George Foreman for our BBQ. Sorry guests.
2. September 5th we had our annual camping trip. Same folks as last time with a few extras (Jayna, Chris, and Brad). It was a whole lot of fun. There was fishing, secret sister gift exchanges (no joke), smores, etc. Jayna, Season, and I all had sleepless nights, praying for the dawn. It could've been one of the longest night of my life (crying). It was my own fault for thinking I could sleep on the straight ground. Boy was I wrong. Who let me get away with that ridiculous thinking?!! For some reason Tom isn't in any of the pictures... and only the back of Jayna's head.
3. On the 11th, Nicole and I ran our 2nd 5k this summer. We arrived a little before 7:00 a.m. to register and then spent the next 56 minutes in the car because it was so cold outside. That Spanish Fork wind was freezing. 4 minutes before the race we got out, jump roped to warm up, and got ready for the blast off (which wasn't really a blast off, but would have been cool). We beat our time by a couple of minutes, hooray!
Nate and Jayna came and cheered us on. Nicole and I doing our after-run-happy-stretches.
Before the race, Nicole and I were warming up--she was across the street from me. I wasn't paying attention to her, and when I looked over she was doing these weird crazy warm ups. It was soooo funny. The first pic below is her re-enacting one of her warm ups. The other is my jealously overcoming me... probably for her winning 2nd in her division.
After the race and naps, Jayna, Nicole, and I went to the Women's Expo.
4. Jayna and I spent last Sunday afternoon up the canyon. Jayna was supposed to do homework, but we spent the first half talking (which we had agreed we wouldn't do). It was so nice and beautiful up there.
