hiking the narrows

This last weekend some friends and I went down South and hiked the Narrows in Zions.  It was my second time hiking the Narrows and just as fun as it was before.  The whole hike is 16 miles, but we didn't do the whole hike (about 3/4 of the hike is in water).  We hiked a total of about 7 hours.  Sometimes the rocks can be slippery, but our walking sticks helped steady us.  Did I still fall and face-plant in the water?  Yes, yes I did.  I stubbed my toe as well.  Luckily the water was cold and numbed my toe and bruised and swollen knee.  Did I cry?  No..., but just barely.  Phew.
The crew ready to take off.  L to R:  Jon, Chris, Shelly, Aileen, Brad, Joel, and Michelle.
Chris, Brad, and I went a little farther than the rest of the group and turned back at the part where it really starts to narrow.
I posed Brad for a funny photo, haha.  Also, you can see the one portion of the hike where the water is pretty deep.  It's only about 30 feet.
Brad and I in a scaaaaaaaary cave.  Not really scary, but looks scary with our glowing wolf eyes.
It was a suuuuuuuuuuuuuuper fun trip, and we ended the night with a high-calorie binge-fest at Texas Roadhouse in St. George.  Soooooo good!  I  highly recommend hiking the Narrows.  You can even stay at the Kent and Denise Conder hotel.  They love visitors.  I can even guess that they might pack you a lunch for your hike.  Also, YAY!  Provo tabernacle will be a new temple!  So cool!
