Witches Night Out

Last Saturday Nicole and I went to Witches Night Out at Gardner Village. We first ate a delicious dinner at Texas Road House, which is a favorite of ours, and then headed on over for the witches craze. There were witch hats everywhere. We felt a little out of place because we didn't dress up. We did however decide to get the eye kandy glitter eye shadow with coordinating drawing on the side for $4 to try and fit in a little. Nicole got swirls and I got a spider's web... w/ no spider... hmmm. There was a group of women that we saw dressed up at TRH and then again at Witches Night Out so we had to get our picture taken with them. Their costumes were over the top. If you look closely the witch in fronts mohawk spells witch. Also, I attempted to make a Halloween garland this year. It turned out okay. I don't love it. It's no Natalie special, but it will do this year. I have yet to hang it up though. We'll see if my Christmas one turns out better.

{Boys Like Girls}

This past Wednesday, October 21st, I drove to Idaho for the Boys Like Girls concert. I met up with my friend Elizabeth who lives in Idaho Falls and we drove out to Blackfoot. We were probably the oldest ones there, but enjoyed it none the less. 4 bands played. The first one we missed, and I can't remember their name... after them Maine played, followed by Cobra Starship, and then Boys Like Girls. I was tempted a couple times to punch some screaming girls in the neck to get them to stop screaming. Not that they shouldn't scream, but sometimes it felt like they were screaming directly into my ear at their highest pitch and every two minutes. I finally had to tell one screamer to move in front of me. It was a fun fast trip, and despite being the oldest ones their (besides the parents) it was totally worth it. They all did a great job (I sound like the proud parent/chaperone, ha!).

I'm a Barbie Girl - Living in a Barbie World

This is what happens when you leave Kt and Izzy alone in a room with Sophie. Apparently Sophie was the school teacher for all fifteen or so Barbies. I think Sophie's unsure if the Barbie's are going to attack her.

On another note: Izzy is the queen for making up her own words. Currently her words are "shrinklefrog" and "zipperator". Any ideas what those are? Also her imaginary friend is named "Tiny Liedee". Creative minds are so wonderful for the imagination, and her imagination is a hoot. I think Addie has more of her hands full with Izzy than she ever did with Kt. Today while I was talking to Addie on the phone Izzy had the vaccuum cord around her neck and was mauling Sophie--while she should have been eating her sandwich for lunch.

Brook's 5th Birthday

Yesterday, October 14th, little Brook turned 5. It's hard to see them grow up because you want them to be little forever. Her Halloween birthday party was last Saturday. She was a witch and Bk was Wolverine. He was pretty excited about his costume. He was wearing part of it when we were there for his baptism at the beginning of September. I called Brook yesterday to ask her about her birthday (and wish her a happy birthday) but she wasn't real interested in talking to me on the phone so I have limited information. So for now you'll just have to enjoy a couple pictures from the party and one picture of their new puppy Pepper.

Runaway Rump

These are some pictures that we (Kent and Denise) took at Navajo Lake recently. A wild Indian and Whip Girl went with us. Grandma didn't move fast enough and was the recipient of an arrow in the rump.

5 Posts and the Twins Are Found!!

Dear family,

We have some great news! Kt's long lost twin has finally been found. It turns out that she has been sleeping under her bed. She has gotten very thin from not eating so well, but it helps her to slip under doors and through cracks easier. Her name is Eitak. We hope that you will come visit her soon and maybe bring her something to eat.

Love, Kt

Izzy's twin just showed up too, but she appears to have suffered alot more than Eitak. Izzy is a fan, lately, of drawing teeth.

Mitered Corner Class

A couple Mondays ago my friend Nat and I took a super great/fun class at Material Girls Quilt Shop. It is such a cute store and I love going there. The fabric is sooooo cute and the workers are sooooo nice. Back in February Nicole and I went to an "All Night Sew" there and had a blast. One of the ladies who works there taught a class on mitered corners. It only took us 2 hours to make super cute blankets. Nat and I both used the minky fabric for the inside. Nat's, of course, turned out perfect and so cute. It would be unnatural for hers not to be. Then last Friday I tried making another one on my own, which turned out pretty good considering I forgot some of the steps and had to improvise. The one I made Friday has ballerina kittens on it with pink polka dots and was made of all flannel. The best part of the pictures is Sophie though. She has recently discovered her hands and is mesmorized by them (sorry, no pictures of that yet). Darling little chubster.

Monkey

This is what Izzy did with the gloves I bought last night (September 30th). She says she is a monkey now because she has four hands.

Casablanca... Ahhh the life.

Here are a few photos taken via dad's cell phone of their recent stay at Casablanca in Mesquite, Nevada. My mom and dad LOVE this place. Mostly for the pool. Our parents are fish, what can we say. We all love to swim.

Grandparents/Special Person Day

I recently had the opportunity of going to Kt's second grade class for Grandparents/Special Person Day. The night before I slept over and even though Addie told Kt and Izzy not to wake me up until 8 a.m. (that was at 7:30 a.m.) Izzy was down in the basement waking me up at 7:30 a.m. She doesn't listen real well, but I'm sure that's normal for a crazy 4 year old like her. Kt left for school and a 1/2 hour later Izzy and I skipped over (literally). Her school is just around the corner. Kt's teacher said she had the biggest grin on her face when we showed up. I got to sit at Kt's desk and she had a clipboard with a list of things to do for the 1/2 hour that we were there. We traced our hands on a paper and put them together to see the difference. Filled out a paper on what we did when we were in school. Kt read us a story, and we had cookies and water.
Kt's class also put on a program for us by singing a couple things for us. My favorite was "Double Stuff" which they recited with numbers. I took a video of the class singing "This Land is Your Land", but can't figure out how to upload it.
Then Izzy and I went out to recess with Kt. While we were out there Kt was invited by her friend Lilly to be apart of the pink club where they wear pink on Thursdays and Wednesdays. Shouldn't be a proble for Kt. I think she wears pink everyday. The first couple of pictures of Kt and Izzy doing hopscotch.
The last two are of Kt chasing Izzy around the playground. See if you can locate both of them. Kt was really concerned about staying with her the whole time as you can tell by Kt's face in the second picture. Izzy on the other hand could care less.
