You did it! You really did it!

Saturday, March 12th Jayna and I ran the Rex Lee Run at BYU.  It was Jayna's first 5k and my third.  The first part was all up hill, but after that part it was downhill and then pretty level.  I had been wanting to do this run for a couple years now, so I'm glad I finally got the opportunity.

Winter Bridal Shower

Around the 3rd week of January, Nicole Fawcett and I threw our good friend Nicole Wenczel a bridal shower. Since it was still sort of around Christmas, I left up my tree and we did a winter themed bridal shower brunch. My sister helped me make a gorgeous "bride" garland (she is so talented--she thinks of things I never would) and we cut out (with her cricket) individual snowflakes to put on the party favors. A couple days before the shower Nicole and I baby-sat Tom and Season's little bunny (she slept the whole time--what a good baby) and got almost everything made, except food, for the shower. The night before we put flags on straws, cleaned, set up, and prepared food. The food turned out sooooooo good too. We made these two (1 and 2) recipes from the Pioneer Woman with homemade syrup. I'm licking my lips thinking about them. Nicole also made 'I'd poke my eye out to get one' cinnamon rolls, PLUS--I made expired muffins! Everyone's favorite. Don't tell. For more pictures of the shower you can go to our friend Tracy's blog. It turned out really well, and we are so happy for our Nicole!
On February 19th Nicole Wenczel married her sweetheart Darren Seegmiller in the Provo temple. Darren was one of my dad's boy scouts, and lived across the street from us.
It was such a beautiful day, and we are so happy for them!

A Mustache Tea, if you please...

Last weekend was Jayna and I's good friend Chris' birthday. A couple weeks before Chris had told me that he wanted to have a mustache party, and then a couple days later said everyone was doing them, so he didn't want to do it anymore... who is doing them?!! I've never been to one (crying)! So in honor of his almost-mustache-party, I decided to make him a homemade mustache gift. I got the idea for these two things here: Mug & tea bags. Chris' good friend (and mine) Brad, helped me paint the mustache on the mug, and by help me, I mean he did it all. Then I went to Good Earth and bought some loose leaf herbs, and went home and sewed mustache tea bags. I made lavendar & chamomile, spearmint, and peppermint.
I think it turned out priiiiitty good, if I do say so myself. I think Miley Cyrus would say it's pretty cool. Jayna and I also offered to get the cake from Costco. Chris knows we're nutty, but I don't think he knew what he was in for. Good thing he's gotten used to our weirdness, and he said he loved the cake. Nothing like a cake with a goofy dinosaur with a Justin Bieber head, a gross zombie, tv's favorite couples, a black scary doll, and Joan Rivers (of course). Then we loaded the cake with about 50 candles, just so he wouldn't get his wish. What? Is it fair that he gets a wish and we don't? Kitting!

Happy birthday Jerk!

You're really doin' it!

37 years ago (I think) today, a handsome guy in a green tux married a very pretty girl holding yellow daisy's. They provided the sack of flour, and someone made them that awesome cake.

Just look at them now! (crying) All grown up with 4 kids (who are grown up too) .
Still just as handsome/pretty as ever.

Thanks for being the best parents! You have been wonderful!
